This long-standing relationship has seen Novatech accumulate over 1,300 L-Acoustics loudspeakers, a testament to the company's commitment to quality and innovation. The latest addition to their fleet is the L Series, a groundbreaking line of 'Progressive Ultra-Dense Line Source' (PULS) speakers that promise to revolutionize the audio industry.
The L Series consists of the L2 and L2D units, each packing 20 drivers into a single cabinet, making them equivalent to four traditional line array elements. This design innovation not only enhances performance but also reduces weight and space requirements, simplifying rigging and transportation. Novatech's Managing Director, Leko Novakovic, had the opportunity to experience the L2 system firsthand during its installation at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre Theatre, where it outperformed the existing K2 system in every aspect.
The L2's performance was so impressive that L-Acoustics followed up with the L1 long-throw PULS array, a beast that outputs a staggering 160dB from 35Hz to 20kHz. This product launch reinforces L-Acoustics' commitment to the PULS model as the future of high-SPL sound reinforcement. Novatech's acquisition of the L2 system has further benefits, allowing them to create full arena rigs or smaller standalone rigs for festival stages, all while taking up less truck space and weighing less.
The L Series' design also streamlines directionality and optimization, eliminating the need for physical angles and rigging pins. Instead, it relies on software-based adjustments, making the setup process more intuitive and efficient. Leko Novakovic highlights the significance of this software-driven approach, suggesting it could be as transformative as the adoption of line arrays two decades ago.
Furthermore, Novatech has recently acquired the L-ISA II Processor, the first in Australia to be available for hire. L-ISA offers immersive audio capabilities, including Hyperreal frontal spatialization, object-based mixing, Ambiance acoustic enhancement, and Source Intelligence. Source Intelligence, in particular, is a real-time vocal enhancement technology that isolates the human voice from background noise, ensuring crystal-clear vocals in any environment.
Leko Novakovic reflects on Novatech's early adoption of L-ISA in 2018 with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, noting its growing popularity globally.
